2. FREE Post Toastie Recipe

Attached to this newsletter is your free Post Toastie Tart Recipe. Enjoy!!

This quarter, we have selected a South African favorite recipe passed down from our family over the years. The crust is made from crushed cornflakes and it makes a refreshing change from the regular biscuit crust! It has a lovely home made custard filling and is topped with chewy meringue. It is left in the oven just long enough to brown slightly and get crunchy round the edges! Mmmm...all that is left is to go and try it! Don't forget to let us know what you think!

3. Fun Party Suggestion - Construction site Party

A construction party for a toddler can be great fun. It is a party they can actually take part in and not just attend. On arrival each guest can be given a kiddie construction helmet, most party shops stock these and they are normally quite reasonably priced and these can serve as a keepsake long after the party. If time permits, self-adhesive lettering can be applied to the helmets to personalize them. Buckets and spades can be available as well as fresh river sand for the kids to tuck in to make their own structures. Prizes of chocolates in the shape of tools can be awarded as prizes. A construction worker cake is very popular and so is a building site. Gingerbread construction workers can strengthen the theme with matching cupcakes and chocolates.

4. Bob The Builder's Answer to Pass the Parcel!

A variation of pass the parcel would be for kids to sit in a circle and to pass a styrofoam brick, to the tune of some building type song. Each time the music stops, the person with that particular brick has to go to the center of the circle and place that brick down to form a structure before leaving the game. Another new brick is then handed to the next person in the circle and the music starts up again and the brick gets passed on. There should always be one brick less than the amount of children, so that once the last brick has been placed, there is one kid over, who is THE WINNER.
